Due to the high incidence of diabetes and consecutive kidney disease (nephropathy) of the Curacao population

there is a high demand for dialysis (artificial kidney function). For this treatment vascular acces through permanent vascular shunt reconstructions, vascular catheters or peritoneal (abdominal) catheters is needed.
